EAST MONTGOMERY COUNTY HISTORY DAY

The East Montgomery County Historical Society-
Is inviting all, to come out, on March 15th, and bring the whole family.

Much, has been planned, and is in store, for all to experience and see-
Our heritage and culture, and just exactly, how it used to be.

We're starting the day off with a Civil War Grave Dedication-
At 10 a.m. at Enloe Cemetery, for Kyle Grundy Needham,
and John Franklin McFadin, that will be a privilege, to be done.

Then starting at noon, at Bull Sallas Park, in New Caney-
The East County History Day, will delight, the visiting community.

There will be booths to highlight our history, and much
fun, for everyone-
There will be a Civil War Camp and Historical Re-enactors,
dressed in full costume, with cannon and gun.

Unique Vendors and Craftsmen, which will certainly catch
one's eye-
Pioneer stew and cornbread, a cultural food staple, one that
everyone will have to give a try.

From 6 to 7 p.m. an East County Celebrity Cake Decorating
Contest will begin-
Join in the observing, and the rooting, of the celebrity entrant,
of your choice, you'd like to win.

And last, but not least, from 7-9:30 p.m., is our Civil War Dance-
Period costume is "optional", such as ladies wearing hooped
dresses, and the men wearing old fashioned coats and pants.

Dance to the band, "Time Was," and give pause, unrelieved-
As messages of the battles are announced and received.

$20 per person, or $35 per couple, refreshments will be flowing-
Right at that moment, that your newly learned dance steps, get
going.

A pioneer cabin setting will be available, to have your picture
taken, by a professional photographer-
Come on out, and join us to reminisce, how in East Montgomery
County, things once were.
