An Original Pair
The original New Caney High School was built in 1940-
Right in the midst of East Montgomery County.
.
Student classes nowadays are of the larger kind-
But back then, the first graduating seniors consisted of nine.
.
Two alumni from that era were honored recently at the annual
2007 New Caney High School pep rally-
Ruby Epperson Hollis and Seymour Willis, were a charm to see.
.
A pair of former students that stood out in the crowd-
Highlighted with applause, that was deservedly loud.
.
Honoring those who came before us, enriches the whole
community-
Living, learning, and remembering, as to how it used to be.

The East County History Day, will delight, the visiting community.
There will be booths to highlight our history, and much
fun, for everyone-
There will be a Civil War Camp and Historical Re-enactors,
dressed in full costume, with cannon and gun.
Unique Vendors and Craftsmen, which will certainly catch
one's eye-
Pioneer stew and cornbread, a cultural food staple, one that
everyone will have to give a try.
From 6 to 7 p.m. an East County Celebrity Cake Decorating
Contest will begin-
Join in the observing, and the rooting, of the celebrity entrant,
of your choice, you'd like to win.
And last, but not least, from 7-9:30 p.m., is our Civil War Dance-

dresses, and the men wearing old fashioned coats and pants.
Dance to the band, "Time Was," and give pause, unrelieved-
As messages of the battles are announced and received.

Three Good Reasons For Any City Museum To Reach Out To The Suburbs
Three good reasons for any city museum to reach out to the suburbs:
1. The surrounding counties do have an interest.
2. It is a profitable venture.
3. Millions live outside the city.
==========================================
Just for an example, Montgomery County, alone, has a population of 400,000, with much more room to grow-
So for city museums, the suburbs, and surrounding counties, including one day, East County, (the dinosaur park), is a smart way to go.
